These programs vary considerably as they target the different developmental needs of our clients across the age span. For details of these programmes, please see the list at the bottom of this page. Skills for Life Adult Day Program

Skills for Life Adult Day Program Logo

Created to provide meaningful, daytime opportunities for youth and adults, participants in this program engage in a variety of educational, physical, recreational, and creative activities in a positive and safe environment.

Art Studio I

This innovative program enables individuals of all abilities to connect and integrate with others using creative expression.  Participants produce beautiful and functional items, from start to finish, while developing essential life skills.  Art Studio I will also offer movement and physical activities through sports & fitness opportunities.

Winter 2019 Session: January 8th to March 26th (11 weeks) – no programming on March 12

Tuesdays: 9:00am-12:00pm

Location: Trinity United Church, 20 First Avenue, Uxbridge

Cost:  $275 (monthly payment installments available)

 

Art Studio II

This innovative program enables individuals of all abilities to connect and integrate with others using creative expression.  Participants produce beautiful and functional items, from start to finish, while developing essential life skills.  Art Studio II will also offer activities related to packaging, tracking inventory, and walks in the community to deliver products to local retailers.

Winter 2019 Session: January 10th to March 28th (11 weeks) – no programming on March 14

Thursdays: 9:00am-12:00pm

Location: Trinity United Church, 20 First Avenue, Uxbridge

Cost:  $275 (monthly payment installments available)

 

Sports & Fitness Studio and Health & Wellness Studio

The Sports & Fitness Studio will provide physical activities with individualized, adapted instruction and support to optimize comprehension, independence, and success.  Activities in the Health & Wellness Studio will include nutrition, preparing healthy snacks, self care, relaxation techniques, and so much more!

Winter 2019 Session: January 10th to March 28th (11 weeks) – no programming on March 14

Thursdays: 1:00pm-4:00pm

Location: Uxbridge Baptist Church, 231 Brock St. W., Uxbridge

Cost:  $275 (monthly payment installments available)

There will be a supervised lunch hour from 12:00pm-1:00pm for participants who register for the full day program on Thursdays.  Staff and participants in the full day program will walk from Trinity United Church to Uxbridge Baptist Church during the lunch break.

LEGO ® Robotics Club

LEGO ® Robotics Club

The next generation of our LEGO® Friendship Club, this innovative program is a structured social opportunity for children and youth. This program is designed to support social skills, cooperative play, and friendship building skills. Participants partner together for a “challenge”. Utilizing a Samsung tabled pre-loaded with WeDo.2.0, participants design a solution to the ‘challenge’ and collaborate to build a working LEGO® robotics model.

Winter 2019 Session: March 19th to April 23rd (6 weeks)

Tuesdays: 4:00pm to 5:15pm

Location: Zehrs Community Room, Uxbridge

SUPER STRIKERS Bowling

SUPER STRIKERS Bowling

This community-based recreational opportunity ‘strikes home’ for our bowlers – a consistent Tuesday evening social connection motivated more by the gathering and value of others and less by the competitive aspect of the game.  Goals include: cultivating friendships; honing skills and etiquette of the sport; and nurturing an awareness of belonging, identity, and purpose within the community. 

Winter 2019 Session: January 8th to March 19th (10 weeks) – no programming on March 12

Tuesdays: 7:00pm – 8:15pm

Location: Uxbridge Bowl, 69 Brock Street W, Uxbridge

Cost: $115 (includes shoe rental)

Fitness Zone - SWIM

Fitness Zone – SWIM

In its 10th year, this community-based program supports the early development of critical life skills and healthy lifestyle choices.  Weekly pool sessions incorporate warm ups; skill-building through progression (water safety rules, breathing, floating, and mobility in the water); group games and fun challenges.  Participants are buddied up with high school student volunteers for additional support and optimal social engagement.

Winter 2019 Session: February 7th to April 4th (8 weeks) – no programming on March 14

Thursdays: 3:00pm – 3:45pm

Location: Uxpool, 1 Parkside Dr., Uxbridge

Cost: $120
